Hi,

I visitied NY in April and now Im hoping to be able to go in late October beginning of November. I had great weather in April, about 20 Celcius. Whats the weather usually like in late October? When does autumn kick in and central park turns red?

Thanks
Peter from Sweden

Average temperature for October is 58F (14.4C).

By historical data, New York fall foliage begins the third week of October and lasts for three weeks.

You'll be right in the thick of it.

No, it does not usually snow. Snow isn't exactly a normal weather event.

Thats a shame...it looks so pretty in the snow. (Thanks anyway, I do appreciate your advise even if it isnt what i want to hear)

Snow is iffy. If we have a long cold spell, it could snow every now and then. Most snow fall usually come in big amounts (blizzards) and that can cripple the whole area.

I always hope for snow during the time around Christmas & New Years.

Much preferable to nasty freezing rain ...

We had a White Christmas back in 02. Anyone remember that?

I was in NYC last October & you were building arks!!(LOL) Rain, rain, rain for days! I was there mid december 2003. It snowed all day on the Sunday & I walked all around looking at the store windows. It was magical!

I remember it from last year. First time I experienced it. Very poetic, as far as nature in a big city goes.

Fall Foliage? I thought all you New Yorkers, go to New England to see the foliage. (like that episode of Family Guy :D)
