So..I found 2 places in these two cities....Hastings isnt so close to midtown..but does anyone live there or around there..is the commute OK?

What about Harrison...is it generally a safe place..for the most part? What about the commute..should be less since its closer..but is it an OK city? Thanks!

Hastings-on-Hudson, is about 20 miles from Midtown. You can take the Hastings-on-Hudson Metro North Station to Grand Central Station. It is about a 45 minute train ride because it make local stops.

Harrison is a very nice safe town. It is on the PATH line right next to Newark. Despite being right across the Passic River from Newark, it is extremely safe and well maintained town. It is predominately middle class and great shopping street life. It is a very close knit community. About 20-30 mins into city by PATH.
