Living basics: laundromats

For those of you, like me, who don't have washers and dryers in your building, much less in your own apartment, where do you go to get laundry and dry cleaning done in your different neighborhoods? I intend this to be a thread for those new to whatever neighborhood they live in as a resource, but I also need to know myself because I am new to Brooklyn.

I'm in the DUMBO area, but not in a garrish new condo building. I'm in an old warehouse loft on Plymouth street, meaning I'm not content with just dropping my lanudry off at an expensive place for someone else to do it for me - I simply don't make enough money. I'm willing to go into Chinatown or Downtown Brooklyn to save some cash, and the later it's open the better. Any suggestions for those specifically?

Suggestions for self serve and other laundromats, dry cleaners, etc.
