We have booked to see Mary Poppins at The New Amsterdam Theatre in the couple of weeks, we have to collect our tickets from 'Will Call', what is this> and is there a dress code to get into the theatre?

Cheers,

Jamie

"Will call" means that you need to pick up the tickets from the theater's box office, in its lobby. There is no theater dress code.

Will Call is the Box office at the theatre....where you would be buying tkts if you are there....Just walk up to Box office and tell them you are here to pick up the tkts, and give them your name.

Dress Code on Broadway is not nearly as dressed up as it was "back in the day"......however, it is still NOT the movies and although some people go in jeans and sneakers, I think they look like sloppy tourists (usually).....Hey you are spending alot for the evening, it doesnt hurt to put on a nice outfit:

Blazer, shoes, slacks for men

skirt or nice slacks for women.

this is still NY..

If you can you might want to pick up your tickets somewhat in advance of curtain time to avoid the crush. Pick them up before dinner -- or if you're in the Times Square area earlier in the day / days before do it then. Most box offices are open from ~ 10 AM right up to curtain time.

The New Amsterdam where "Mary Poppins" is playing is one of the most spectacularly beautiful of all the Broadway houses. Take some time to walk around inside (check out the stairways) before the show or during intermission.
