Does anyone have the scoop on the large black unit that was recently installed on the southside intersection of 7th and B'way above the panasonic jumbo display? I walk by it on a daily basis and noticed that it's significantly thicker than a typical billboard. Anyone have any word on this?

No news on that one -- but the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade is on the horizon and typically major new signage goes up around TS in order to cash in on the TV coverage of the parade.

Is this related to NBC giving up their jumbotron screen to Fox News?

Not sure, but I wish someone would rent the space. It's really embarrassing to have empty retail and some missing signs on Times Square's most conspicuous building. You'd think someone would jump at the opportunity.

Big New sign for BEER is up there -- Bud, Bud Light, Michelob and others ...

Lots of flash and movement ...

Big and new yes, but they are definitely lacking in creativity.

These signs are nothing more than large flat monitors.
