Hi,

I am italian.
I'll be in NY around the end of the month!
I am looking for a cheap motel where to skeep for about 1 week. Can u suggest me a nice one?

I would like also to see a Basketball game at the Madison Square Garden, any suggestions about where to get one ticket?

If anyone want to take me around I'd appreciate that...
I am 27 years old nice, polite, and sweet :)

Cheap and nice usually don't go together. I'll leave that question for someone else to answer.

As for the Knicks, go here (http://www.nba.com/knicks/index_main.html) to see if you can buy tickets ahead of time.

You might be able to find something cheep in Jersey. And take a bus across the Hudson, to the city. But as Ant said, cheep and nice doesn't really go together.

Don't know if this qualifies as cheap in your mind, but by New York standards very reasonable, and if you can afford it, you'll be well satisfied. Just be nice at the front desk: http://www.tripadvisor.com/Hotel_Review-g60763-d93351-Reviews-Cosmopolitan_Hotel_Tribeca-New_York_City_New_York.html

175 dollars are too much for me for 1 night
I need a Hostel for about 30-40 dollars

Trip Advisor doesn't offer anything for that price, unfortuantely. That's not a good site if you're looking for hostels.

There are quite a few places available during that time through this search:

Schade, you must not have clicked on the link; it's to Tripadvisor's hostel listings. They have dozens, some as low as $25. Check it out.

I did check it out, but those rates don't include the time that Italyboy is looking for. November-December is prime-NYC tourism time, and the cost rises accordingly.

Really, I think that Tripadvisor is best utilized after you've already got your ducks in order for a visit. It's a great site, but the site's suggestions seem to be a bit off, and the forum advice sometimes truly misguided.

^ OK, you seem to know your way around hostels; those are low prices.

I've actually never stayed in a hostel, but I'm darn good with a Google search.

You could check out the Pennsylvania Hotel, its located directly across from Madison Square Gardens. But be warned its a two star hotel & its just really basic. But I have stayed there everytime ive visited NYC (6 times) & its clean, safe & in the centre of everything. We book it for $40 a night per person using this site www.1800hotels.com (http://www.1800hotels.com) or www.1800hotels.ie (http://www.1800hotels.ie) . We travel over from Ireland all the time & find hotel great although some people hate it !! But lets face it your in NYC so you arent going to spend that much time in your room when theres so much to do

If you think these Hostel prices are expensive too, maybe you should postpone your visit until you save a little more Euro...;)
