Im from the UK and I will be visiting New York for 3 days in January with my brother for my 21st birthday.

We have bought tickets to see the Nicks but thats it. I want to do the obvious things like shopping, seeing the empire state building and the statue of liberty etc, but with so much to do I am lookng at sugestion as to doing as much as I can in 3 days.

I would be greatful for suggestions.

A short hand list of suggestions in this thread: http://www.wirednewyork.com/forum/showthread.php?p=129046#post129046
The outdoor suggestions will require you to bundle up in winter. New York gets very cold.

But you can make a virtue of it: go ice skating. There are three great places to skate (and probably more): Central Park, Rockefeller Center and Bryant Park. You can rent skates on premises.

Wear lots of clothing layers and a scarf.
