Hey guys, first time poster here. I'm moving to Manhattan in a little less than 2 months. I've been checking out some of the buildings you all talk about on here, and we really like the idea of some of these buildings that have gyms and doormen and such (like 10 Hanover or 37 Wall). We don't mind being anywhere below 90th street, our only real constraint besides is that combined we're looking at a maximum of $3000/month rent. Is this feasible? Has anyone lived in any of these buildings and can give an idea of what their rent was like? Thank you-

where are you moving from? you will have to adjust your expectations in Manhattan. for 3k you can get a mid-level luxury high rise 1 bedroom. a 2 bed will be 4500 to 5000.

i live in midtown west, where there is the victory, 420 west 42, river place, riverbank west and a few other rentals that could give you a 1 bedroom for 3k a month. wherever you look, just go to the building and ask for the leasing manager.

$3,000 for a 2-BR in a doorman building in prime Manhattan = not gonna happen.

You can up your price range, or go for a non-doorman tenement layout in the East Village, or move north of 90th.

I think given that you mentioned two downtown buildings, you might want to look at the luxury high-rises in Jersey City. They have laundry, doormen, on-site gyms, roof decks, aren't a bad commute to Wall Street and might fit better in your price range.
