Hi there.

My name is Alex, i'm 22 and i'm from Munich, Germany...

I do have a question... i guess for every New Yorker with internet.

Is there anyone who could do me a very big favour? I need someone, that lifes in NY and is willig to do a photo for me...

Alright... let me tell you why i'm asking, and for what i'm asking: =)

6 month ago,... i met this beautiful, nice girl, Maria. For the first time in my life i fell love as it is ment to be. My girl (and im so happy to be able to call her like that) wants to see NY someday and i will make that possible... BUT unfortunatelly it will take some time until i can afford this trip. Until then i wanted to give her a little present...

Alright, so now christmas is coming around and i want to give her a special present. I wanna give her a picture of me and her,... being at a hotspot of NY (Times Square, for example).

Well i can't wait until we made the trip to make her a present like that so i thought maybe i can get someone to do a photo, of a photo.
I attached a picture of me and Maria... and i thought that maybe someone is so nice and prints that out,... visites a hotspot, holds the photo of me and maria in front of it and does a picture of that. Do you know what i mean? I would be happy with a picure of our photo in front of the skyline, too... (so maybe someone can do that from his window or something?)
You see, i don't really know what hotspot it should be... and actually that isn't that important either. The special thing will be that our photo has been in NY already...

I could print that out and frame it.

So it is like... "See, we are already there..."

I hope i reached some New Yorkers with my request and that some of you could do me that favour. It would be so great!!!

I don't know anyone in NY so i'm pretty desperate about getting this picture...

PLEASE reply!

Thanks for anyone who supports me on this thing. I hope i can return the favour somehow.

I think as many of us as possible should do this all around town ...

Alex & Maria could end up with quite a scrap-book of their "trip" to NYC ;)

In the meantime, here are a few (very) quick photoshop pics. Hope you both enjoy NYC.

WOW! I'm glad some of you actually replied on my post... Thank You!

Thanks for the nice PS work. Unfortunatelly that is not yet what i was searching for. =/

The thing is... Maria, eventhough she believes me, is not yet convinced that this trip is really gonna happen. So with the present i do wanna show her that i'm serious about it. If i actually "make up" a picture that looks like the one that i'm searching for it wouldn't be the same, cause it is kinda fake right?
And so i would provide the feeling that the trip maybe kinda fake too. And that certainly not what i want.

But you worte that these pictures are just for the meantime, right?... So i hope that you guys can do a "real" picture of our photo.

And i cannot say it often enough, thank you!

If I have someone hold your picture up with the Empire State Building in the background -- is that the kind of you're thinking of?

Or are you hoping for a picture of the two of you sitting at the best table at Four Seasons

Meanwhile, enjoy your carriage ride ...

or this ...

It was interesting: When I asked people if they would hold up the picture while I took a photo ("Would you do me a favor? These are two European friends who really want a picture of them in NY -- could you hold this up ...") invariably it was the WASPY 30-year old guys who said, "No" -- everyone else was cool with it. Go figure

Yep -- that's the max resolution from my cell phone cam ...

Plus I printed out your pic on normal paper, so the image probably isn't as sharp as it could be.

But not so bad, eh?

No doubt somebody else here with a REAL camera could come up with something better

These pics are great eventhough the resolution isn't that big. I think it's enough.

Thank you lofter, thanks a lot.

I can do very cool stuff with these pictures. =)
