Last Friday night I had the pleasure of visiting the Rose Center for their Friday night Jazz session "Starry Nights" and then to see the show "Sonic Visions" a digitally animated/electronic music show on the planetarium theater dome(which was the closest thing to an LSD trip I can imagine except it was drug-free and over before you wanted it to be).
Well, we had so much fun we went back Sunday aternoon to see "Cosmic Collisions".
Here are some pictures:

Sure! The Rose Center for Earth and Space is part of the American Museum of Natural History on Manhattan's Upper West Side. It is a place to learn about space and the universe.
This is from their website about the jazz sessions:
STARRY NIGHTS SWINGS WITH LIVE JAZZ AT THE ROSE CENTER FOR EARTH AND SPACE
Starry Nights continues at the American Museum of Natural History's Rose Center for Earth and Space with sizzling live jazz in one of the most spectacular settings in New York. Visitors to Starry Nights, which is presented the first Friday of every month, can also enjoy mouthwatering tapas and wine and other beverages.
Performances are 6:00 – 7:00 and 7:30 – 8:30 p.m.
We were there to see "SonicVisions". It's a show of electronic music and images projected onto the dome of the planetarium theater. Awesome!Below is a picture of this, also from their wesite.

That place is really interesting. Not so much on the inside in my opinion but it's quite unique and good-looking on its exterior in my opinion. Of course that has some degree to do with what can be seen of the interior. I have a few shots of it from months ago that I should post.

Classy place...now how about getting some classy employees to work there? Next time you're at one of the planetarium shows, check out the cool, smartly produced video introductions while you wait to enter. Now, you are in the mood to travel to another dimension! Then, as soon as the cool, smartly produced video ends, you're assaulted with some non-classy employee YELLING AT EVERYBODY to do this, do that, etc. and treating you like so much cattle at an auction. This quickly brings you back to Earth and ruins the presentation.
