Miesian Brutalism. Very beautiful. I am doing a project not far from here and have visited.
It reminds me of some of those Oxbridge colleges by Powell and Moya.
These days when this style has fallen out of fashion, it takes a sophisticated palate to recognize that the taste is good. Fortunately the rich tend to have such refined taste, and this place enjoys decent occupancy at very high rates.

I find raw concrete like that very crushing and depressing. Concrete, even more than stone, seems to me to require leavening through detail, articulation, whimsy, color and light. Would it have killed them to slap some plaster or even some white paint over the concrete bits?
The emptyness of the gardens also seems more than a little bit inhuman. These buildings are very orderly. I doubt they are terribly practical (so much window arrea that the windows have to be turned back into walls by very heavy use of internal shutters....).
Fortunately the rich tend to have such refined taste, and this place enjoys decent occupancy at very high rates.
My impression is that the rich, perhaps with more exceptions than among the lumpenbourgeois, generally slavishly follow the latest trend/fashion with little regard for aesthetic absolutes.

Painted concrete is something I've never seen work well, and is IMHO always a huge mistake.
Of course examples (pics?) to prove me wrong will elicit a retraction ...

Raw concrete is an acquired taste.
