Hi all, new to this site but looks to be a great deal of help as forums usually are.

I am visiting from the UK and looking at coming on the 23rd of November for 3 days.(thanksgiving day 22nd)

Friends have mentioned that being thanksgiving weekend this may have an effect on attractions being open etc.

I would be gratefull for your advice/experiences on whether visiting NYC is a good idea for this weekend.

I could come on the 30th but I am looking at approx $200 more and I am on a pretty tight budget.

Thank you very much for any help/advice given.

^You shouldn't have any problem (lots of places will be closed on the 22nd and a few on the 23rd, but not on the 24th and 25th).

Come on Thanksgiving and see the parade!

On any given day of the year, there is always something to do in NYC.

Keep track here: http://www.timeout.com/newyork/

It will keep you busy.
