Is this area of Washington Heights safe?

Can anyone who is familiar with Washington Heights in Manhatten let me know how safe the area around 174th and St. Nicholas is?

It is an ok area. Not the best, not the worst.

We are considering it. I have visited neighborhood and get impression that east of Broadway is not as nice as West of Broad, but i thought that the stuff East of Broad was nicer closer to hospital. Anyone know this block and ajacent ones?
