cheap produce/farmers markets on the UES?

where can I get fruits & veggies...on the cheap?

I really can't justify paying $1 for an apple or any orange at Food Emporium / Fresh Direct anymore...

I live on the upper east, are there any "bodegas" with cheap fruit up there or maybe weekend farmers markets?

Bodegas don't carry cheap fruit- it's almost always more expensive than supermarkets.
