Hi Guys,Been living in New York for a few months now but still haven't found any good places to get my hair cut. (I'm male btw). I prefer to go to hairdressers that cut guys hair as well, can any one recommend any where that’s reasonable priced, i.e. not above $40. Would be even better if any one could recommend somewhere in between Union sq and East Village. Thanks

If you briefly describe the kind of haircut you want, or post an approximate "sample" image of it, then the members here can better assist you.

If you're looking for cheap, go to that Astor Place Hairstylist behemoth like every other guy.

i like going for the messed up look rather then a short back and sides. The place i go to at the minute always makes mine too clumpy ontop...

Are you talking about Mick Jagger's signature shag?

is more serious than i thought
i have been here for a while and never found a satisfying cut.
The last 3 times i went to the one close to flatiron (and more famous for his expensive old style shave, don't feel to write the name here) and i would like to change again. But don't know where to go! and also i would stay under 50$....
i understand Rapunzel says "what style?" but i am a normal guy with normal hair with normal look, so i don't think i need somebody hyperspecialized in one particular style... i would like to have some not to curse at everytime i watch myself in the mirror :D
just some that has studied and received some train and spent some years practicing to build his (sorry girls) reputation

My partner goes to a guy named Alex at Hair Hoppers. It is on Grove Street east of Seventh Avenue. Haircuts are $35.

I've been giving very picky boys/guys/men haircuts/trims my whole life. Also girls and women. I also color hair or take out the gray.

My first motto: give the haircut the person likes, not the haircut I like.
My second motto: make the haircut very low maintenance.
My third motto: make it so that it grows out nicely.

I do it all for free. Long story short, if you meet up with me, and you want a free hair trim or haircut, you've got it.:)

Many of my friends have donned my haircuts for years, even decades. Maybe I'll provide some "sample" pics, (eyes masked out).:D
