Hmm... possible venue for a Wired New York meetup?
You can't beat this for a meetup. Comfortable boat, incredible views of the bridges, skyline, sunset, and a cash bar with very reasonable prices.

TOUR NEW YORK’S “HIDDEN HARBOR” AT SUNSET
Special cocktail cruise will offer an insider’s look at New York’s Working Waterfront
Two-hour boat rides depart South Street Seaport Wednesday, 20 June, and Wednesday, 18 July, both at 6 PM.
New York, NY – From the storied Brooklyn Navy Yard to tugboat alley along the Staten Island shoreline, passengers will get a rare up-close and personal look at New York’s vital working waterfront as they take an after-work cruise aboard Zephyr, a three-deck luxury tour boat operated by Circle Line Downtown.
The two-hour tour, sponsored by the Working Harbor Committee in association with South Street Seaport Museum, will travel north on the East River, cruising beneath the Brooklyn and Manhattan Bridges to the Brooklyn Navy Yard. We then turn south along the Brooklyn waterfront, visiting Red Hook, Erie basin and Gowanus Bay. Our narrators will offer tales of the port, past and present. We'll see tankers, tugs, and container ships. From Brooklyn our boat crosses upper New York Bay, with fantastic views of the Manhattan skyline. Approaching Staten Island, we'll head into one of the most interesting areas of the harbor, Kill van Kull, which is regarded as "tugboat heaven" among shipping enthusiasts. We will reverse direction near the Bayonne Bridge and head home at a relaxed pace passing the Statue of Liberty and the Manhattan skyline just before sunset as we head back to port. For your comfort and enjoyment, snacks and drinks, including a full cash bar, will be on sale throughout the cruise.
The tours will depart from Pier 16, South Street Seaport, at the foot of Fulton Street in Lower Manhattan, promptly at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, 20 June and 18 July. Tickets are $20/$16 for students and seniors, and reservations are strongly recommended, by phone at 212-581-0454 or online at www.workingharbor.org.
The Working Harbor Committee, which has offered the tours annually for six years, is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to spreading the word about the rich history, current vitality and future potential of the New York/New Jersey Harbor. The organization also runs an extensive youth education program. Full information is available at www.workingharbor.org

I have one remaining spot for a photographer on a 125' government boat. There is no fee. We will have a front-row seat for the show. The boat is quite stable. Short time-exposures (under 1/2 second) utilizing tripods will be obtainable. Departure is from Brooklyn.
