Tourist activities that can be scheduled around Yankees games...?

Need my fix of Yankee baseball again this year despite being so many games back from the Evil that is Boston.
Coming to NY for 4 or 5 days in Sept and have been to the city several times before.

Will try to catch all Yankee games, but as these all start at 7pm, need some suggestions for day time activities.

Will be on my own and have done the usual tourist hotspots several times before. Will want to do Top of the Rock as haven't done that but otherwise am open to any suggestions.
Will be stay in Long Island and would like to explore some of the outer boroughs plus downtown

Any thoughts/suggestions gratefully received

Well I would suggest the Water Taxi Beach in LIC, if you are here are on a weekend. http://www.watertaxibeach.com You can come from LI to Queens, chill at the WTB for a bit then take the 7 train over 1 stop and jump on the 4,5 to Yankee Stadium.
