Hey all,

I wrote a bit ago about moving restrictions. I'm all set, but my girlfriend's landlord is saying that she has to pay $125 to move in on the weekend because he has to hire someone to run the freight elevator. They have a regualr elevator and it isn't a doorman building or anything. Is this normal?

I'd say that it's normal. Most elevator buildings will only allow you to move in on predetermined weekdays because they don't want to tie up the elevators with people moving boxes back and forth.

totally normal. Renters and buyers can face move-in fees of up to $1,000 in Manhattan buildings.
