What's in Queens?

I'm rather interested in checking out Queens.

Currently all I know about this borough is,it's where Archie Bunker lived on sitcom All In The Family,where Peter Parker aka SpiderMan lives,and where Sesame Street is actually produced.

Surely there is much more to see in Queens.Is it worth visiting?

Queens is the foundation. It is the most diverse county in the world. Over 200 languages are spoken within county borders. There are beautiful ethnic enclaves spread throughout. Queens offers the 7 train a.k.a. the international express (riding the 7 train feels like travelling the globe). Queens is home to Silvercup Studios, Citicorp Building, Shea Stadium (Citi Field), Queens Museum, Fresh Meadows Park, La Guardia and JFK airports.

I suggest you visit Astoria, Woodside, Jackson Heights, Elmhurst, Corona, and Flushing.

Visiting one of those wonderfully diverse Queens neighborhoods is a great experience, and very different than Manhattan. Definitely go!

The other weeekend a friend and I were exploring Steinway Avenue, down past the area I'm familiar with. Suddenly we were in a fascinating Middle Eastern neighborhood full of tea rooms, hookah places, restaurants, and most signs in Arabic. Walking along you could see into many of the establishments and it was almost like being in a far-off land.

Queens is the best for groceries. I go to Astoria and pick up Mediterranean favorites of mine like baklava, feta, sour-cherry juice, greek-style yogurt, and spanakopita (the real thing, not the fat, over-spinachy, greasy, and nasty variety you get in Manhattan). Hmmm... I'm making myself hungry. Maybe it isn't too late to hop on the N train...

I just pulled them out of the oven, and I wish I could share more than just the picture with you all...these are scrumptious!!
The left has a spinach and cheese filling, the right has several soft cheeses mixed together. Flakey filo dough on the outside, soft and warm in the middle. Yum.

So, to answer your question, delicious things like these are in Queens!:)

Having lived in queens for 20 years, here are some of my fav attractions here. Museum of Moving Image, Kaufman Studios, Noguchi Museum, Flushing Meadow Park, Bohemian Beer Gardens. Greek Food in Astoria, Indian Food in Jackson Heights, Dim Sum in Flushing. And one place I have never hit but heard soo much about ... Corona Ice King.

I love Bohemian Hall, but it's definitely best to get there early and not on a weekend.

I really like the place, except for random saturdays when it gets insanly packed, it is always a good time. I am also a huge fan of the Water Taxi Beach now.. helps it is down the block from me.
