I was an arch student for a semester at NYIT until I changed my major but I can tell you it is a very good program (I have a lot of friends who finished the program). I would only really worry about some of the professors as they can be complete jerks (just in the arch department).

It's a good program, recently got a 6-year accreditation renewal after the "inspectors" came and were very happy with the goings-on.

I'm going into my third year now, so I can review the architecture classes I've had so far... all of them have been great, especially two from this year (two-term course, taught by Jerrilynn Dodds who might be the best arch. professor in this part of the country, if not all of it) which were basically reviews and analyses of architecture all the way from prehistoric times to deconstructivism. Sounds boring, but it most definitely wasn't.

One thing CCNY does is a guest lecturer series at the beginning to middle of each term (not sure if NYIT does it). Architects, landscape architects, urban planners and the like come and lecture about topics and/or their work. We've had people like Peter Cook, Peter Eisenman, Thom Mayne, James Polshek, Neil Denari, etc. The lectures usually pretty good and are always packed solid.

Other than that I think specific questions would be best, I'm not good at general things...
