Could I get a break down of the good and bad areas to live in Brooklyn, NY? I am ideally looking for an area with cheaper rent that is still safe and close to manhattan.
A general break down of all of Brooklyn would still be really helpful aside from my preferences.
Thanks,
Todd

Well, I hardly go to the outer boroughs but from what I've seen, Brooklyn Heights, Park Slope, Bay Ridge, Williamsburg, and DUMBO seemed quite nice.

From my experience of previously posting in forums I noticed that people tend to post less when a question is more vague. That is why I narrowed it down to Brooklyn since me and my friend are already insterested in living as close to Manhattan as possible while still being in a lively area. Also, I already live in the suburbs so the idea of moving to another suburb doesn't really excite me.

Brooklyn is too big to break down like that, really. I also don't understand where you're getting that Brooklyn is any closer to Manhattan than the other boroughs, or that everything minus Brooklyn is a "suburb."
I think you need to do a bit more homework and give us an idea of what you're looking to spend before anyone can seriously answer your questions.
