How do like living in a building with a shared swimming pool?

At first glance, a building that offers the use of pool seems to be a great amenity. I would like to know how pool maintenance and repair affects common charges, how often the pool is cleaned, are there rat feces and roaches in the pool? Has anyone experienced a bad adult when there have been children in the pool? Is a lifeguard legally required during pool hours?

Rat feces sink to the bottom so it's really not much of a problem.
