Hello!

Anyone think it is possible to find a decent no-fee apartment in Manhattan (downtown preferably) for under $1,400? I would possibly be open to extending this distance to the 60's, given that the apartment was no further east than 3rd ave and no further west than 8th ave. Or, does everyone think a broker is the ONLY way to go? I am going back to school and just started NYU so would like to avoid any possible fee's!!!

I moved from CA a few years ago and found the most incredible deal on an apartment in downtown (no broker)! I was paying pennies and it was simply fabulous so I guess I am a bit spoiled. Many people are telling me I can't make this happen but I am keeping my hopes up and praying. Just would like to hear some feedback from others!

Thanks.

I've got nothing downtown at that price. The first thing I have that I could even give you a fee break on is $1,575.

But talk to Stern, he got a cheapie on the East Side (though he did use a broker).

there's more info in this thread here:
