View Full Version : Auckland, New Zealand: The Saffron

Well, it looks like a piece of New York may be coming to Auckland! Inspired by New York's Rockefeller, the Saffron in Auckland is due to begin construction in March 2008. It reminds me vaguely of the three skyscrapers in Lower Manhattan in the 30's - you know the ones. Saffron will be 46 stories and 155 metres, which makes it the tallest residential building in New Zealand, and the second tallest building in New Zealand.

looks more like the americas tower. Dont see a resemblance to anything downtown.

^^ To me, those three towers remind me of the Saffron. And the other way around. Also, some of the smaller, lesser-seen buildings in that picture are sort of similar.

Hmm, dont see it, no similarity to rockefeller either.

It has setbacks therefore its the same. Rockefellers setbacks slope down its facade and it is very wide thin tower nothing like this.
