Ok, this may be the wrong forum, but anyway:
Seeing as New York is called the Big Apple, I was just curious where the "Big Apple" sculpture was... assuming there is one. And seeing as New York is called the Big Apple, I think it's safe to assume that there is one somewhere.
Lol... I just repeated myself.
Anyone? :D

I am not sure if there is a Big Apple Sculpture (not that I know of) but here is a site that explains the many possible reasons NY got this nickname.

^^ Excellent.
Also, that Apple (Macintosh) one was hilarious :D
There was a big, plastic apple in Mount Eden in Auckland, although I don't know if it's still there... must check that out ;)

XD Once again, Rapunzel finds some alternative way of looking at the question... :D I can't really say it looks good, because it's alcohol, so I'll say "good thinking".

Good thinking. :p
OH NO!!!! I accidentally wasted my 500th post!! :( Must make a new thread for my 502nd post...

Paul Bloess: "The term 'Big Apple' was originally used in the 1920s and '30s by jazz musicians as a way of saying, 'There are many apples on the success tree, but when you pick New York City, you pick the Big Apple
this is the right one i believe. The one about people selling apples is just stupid. No particular sculpture that i know of.

Donna Karan’s gift to New York, “The Apple”
by SoHo Journal Staff
Sculpture by the late Stephan Weiss
Donna Karan, in cooperation with the Hudson River Park Trust, unveiled the “The Apple” at a ceremony in June at the foot of Charles Street in Greenwich Village. The sculpture, by Karan’s late husband Stephan Weiss, was conceived by him to honor New York City-the “Big Apple.”
Donna Karan spoke of the support that Stephan Weiss had given her in starting her business, her longstanding love for him and his talent as an artist: “In so many ways, Stephan was larger than life-with his love for his family, with his support for me and with his creative vision for our company. He was a risk taker, a man who always saw the bigger picture, whatever the challenge. Nowhere was this more true than with his art work, to which he was passionately committed. Fittingly, his last series of bronze sculpture was called Larger Than Life. This apple was a cornerstone of that. He saw it as a celebration of the city, its life and its spirit.
Stephan’s son Corey completed the apple after Stephan’s death and now, by installing it in the Hudson River Park, just a block away from Stephan’s studio, our family is able to realize his larger than life dream for The Apple. The Apple was a part of Stephan and now is a part of the city. It’s a remarkable honor and deeply, deeply touching, for me to see his Apple sculpture where he wanted it to be.”
The sculpture is a temporary exhibit that was approved by Community Board #2 and is on view for all to enjoy in Greenwich Village in the Hudson River Park.
