Recent server changes

Due to requirements of the hosting company, the IP address of wirednewyork.com was changed this morning. The new IP is 74.200.71.16 (http://74.200.71.16)

Although the website or forum was not technically down and could be accessed directly by http://74.200.71.16/forum/ , it takes several hours for the change to propagate through the system of nameservers, with the result that some members could not to access the site.

Thanks Edward, I wondered what was amiss. All I could get from my regular link was a picture of Central Park.

Hit me right as I was replying!!!!

I just did not like the fact that the generic help page did not highlight specifically what was going on with this site.

They should have had an indexed error page that would have given you a direct link to the new IP, never-mind waiting for everyone to have their DNS's to get updated.

I.O.W., instead of telling me "Sorry, we are improving things, if you want to know what is happening try mailing webadmin@address" they should have just provided the link that you gave us Ed.
