Cool animation... made me want to learn more about the Liverpool Biennial Festival.

It's not an animation Rapunzel, it's a real building. It is due to be demolished next year but in the meantime an artist made an instalaion out of it.

A hole was made between two floors and steel frame was attached to the inside of the wall then by clever geometry a shaft was attached to the frame at an angle of about 35 degrees driven by a hydralic motor. Then, following the same geometry a circular cut was made in the wall with a gap of a few millimetres.

Every few minutes and in total silence two stories of the building rotate as you see in the film. It's quite surreal to see.

Liverpool is the 2008 European Capital of Culture and it this was part of next years events which run for the entire year of 2008. Come visit :)
