Hey Guys,

its my first new years in New York so i thought it would be better to write a question in the visitors section, my friends and i are looking for somewhere to go for new years, we are looking for an open bar (willing to pay about $150) and not near times square, not sure which one to go for as there are so many. I have heard about these cruises on the Hudson but not sure which one to go for, so if anyone can help that would be great. Any other suggestions of where to go etc, bars, clubs, lounges that would be great.

Thanks

I think Liberty Cruises is pretty good. It leaves from Chelsea Piers.

Where in NYC are you? It might help to find you a club that let's you avoid Times Square and stay closer to home.

What KIND of gathering are you looking for.

Blind Tiger (Jones and Bleeker) is having a smaller party with a lot of great beer and some good food. It is a beer bar though, so if you are looking for "par-tay" you would probably be best off looking somewhere else, but if you love specialty beers......
