I have a friend currently working in telecommunications and from what I hear it seems like the thing for me.

From advice I have gotten from people in the industry there are so many different types of jobs in field and nobody can tell me "you will like..." They tell me just to get my foot in the door and get an apprenticeship learn about the industry and get into the type of work I like from there.

Does anybody know of any companies in NYC that offer an apprenticeship? I have not had much luck searching online... One of the best ones I have found is fiber optics installation and F2 conditioning.... On the job training and classroom training. It is a NYC comapany, the only problem is the job is in California. No offense to anyone from California, but I would rather not travel across the country for this. If I cannot find anything else I probably will, but I would be thrilled if I can find some thing in NYC...

Time Warner Cable advertises on NYC TV stations about all sorts of job opportunites at the company, with testimonials from employees singing its praises.

. . . with testimonials from employees singing its praises.

There's also {{{{{{ssssssshhhhhhh!!!!!}}}}}}} TimeWarner Channel 1892 ("Video Conference") used by TWC from time to time for employee-drone singing lessons.
