and what about the winter and density of ny

^ hard to be objective on the Density/Winter question - as it really depends on what you are comparing New York to.

It's a city - it's dense. It feels crowded during the tourist season. it can feel empty on a sunday morning - especially over labor day weekend

and it's no colder here than in Chicago (I'd argue Chicago is MUCH colder). It's much colder here than in Washington DC or San Francisco.
