We're going to New York this year and are planning a visit to Yankee Stadium at some point. We have the option of watching them play Los Angeles (Day/Night) or Baltimore (Night). What would be the best game to see in terms of Atmosphere and Tension.

Also what kind of Tickets would suit us with regard to Price/Atmosphere/Accessibility to the Bar :D, there seems to be many options available. (Ps. I believe the Bar Prices in Yankee Stadium are a bit Heavy but hey, you only live once :))

I would see Yankees vs. Los Angeles. There isn't a real rivalry between either team. The Orioles will be a really bad team this year, they won't be competitive at all. The Angels have a good team and are always competitive against the Yankees, I believe historically they are the only team to have a winning record against the Yankees.

Thanks for the Reply. LA it is then. Just need to decide whether we go to the Day or Night Game now.

Whats the best form of travel To/From Yankee Stadium. We'll be located near Penn Station so would assume Subway would be good idea, do they run extra services around the Games?

A great way to go to Yankee Stadium is to take the Ferry (http://www.nywaterway.com/event/baseball-cruise.shtml) up the East River to the game and then the subway back down afterwards.

Yanks and Angels great rivalry can't go wrong. Stren your right once Joe Torre took over they are the only team to ever have a winning record during the Torre era.

You may want to get tickets well prior to gametime. This is the last year of the stadium and tickets will be tough to get for most games. Of course if you have the cash, you can always find one from a scalper at the right price. But I don't know if that's part of the NY experience you want to take part of.;)

I would pay the extra and get the lower level seats, as close to the field as possible. They're more pricey, but you get the true feel of the stadium downstairs.

I'm planning on getting tickets as soon as I can. The Trip is already booked so we know when we'll be there. Had an idea that it'd be difficult this year with the new stadium in sight.

The Clipper looks great. Have a similar thing in Manchester to Old Trafford but the view isnt quite the same on the Manchester Ship Canal :). This is our first time to America so we're really looking forward to it and these forums have been brilliant. Getting together my list of cheap bars, good pizza and Subway Directions (I can get to Yankee Stadium and Coney Island on the 'D' Train now, in my head of course)!!

Thanks for all the help.
