There's thousands of restaurants in NY. Where up town? East side? West side? How far downtown? What do you consider "cheap"? What kind of cuisine do you enjoy?

This is almost impossible to answer lol, like the other post said there are way too many to list. Give a round about price and I could give you some GREAT suggestions! :)

My personal favorite is John's Pizzeria on 44th street. The cathedral ceilings, and different floors create a neat atmosphere. The prices aren't bad at all either.

I really like Bar 89. Great burgers and sandwiches at resonable prices. Drinks are great too, but expensive.

I was going to write this up for my blog, some of my favorite places to eat at a low cost. I havent had the time to finish it yet, I want to cover every category. So in the meantime...my first three...

Best Mexican – There are many great Mexican Restaurants in NYC. With its influx of Mexican immigrants New York boasts the best Mexican food in the USA outside of Los Angeles. One of my favorites is El Toro Partido in Washington Heights, this is authentic Mexican food and drinks, nothing is Americanized, furthermore everything is homemade and all the ingredients are fresh. All dishes are under $10 and it’s physically impossible to finish one of the larger dishes in one seating.

Best Fish – One Fish two Fish. This hopping hotspot in the Upper East Side serves fresh fish at a great price. I have to believe the fish is never frozen and is delivered daily from a local fish market. Furthermore you’re greeted with a free salad and original art work, there are also numerous drink specials that makes this place extra special.

Best Vietnamese – Saigon Grill. This place is all about flavor medleys, hot and spicy here is robust but not so much that it’s overwhelming. The wide range of palates offered here are spot on every time. I’ve gone to many Vietnamese restaurants in my neighborhood to try to find a local spot that can compete, they cannot, the cheap, the moderately priced, and the expensive, none can hold a candle to Saigon Grill. Furthermore this place is cheap and offers nice sized portions.

Very nice reply Stern. I can't wait to see what you come up with for your blog. Any chance it'll be up before March 22nd? :D

I'm a huge fan of Mexican food, so I might try out El Toro Partido in Washington Heights while there. Thanks.

Not a "BIG" fan of fish, but being that you said the fish are never frozen (or, so you think), I may try it out.

Thanks again Stern,
Ben

Hi Punzie. While doing my apartment searching, I have been looking in the areas of Harlem and Washington Heights. Both look like very nice neighborhoods. :)
