I found a reference to a new tower supposedly planned for Baruch College at Lexington & 23rd in this article: http://ny.therealdeal.com/articles/8923
I went to the architect's website (http://www.gtects.com/), and this is what I found:

That would be great. The current building is known as the horror on 23rd Street. Hopefully if built they put more money into this project than the vertical campus at 25th which is aging badly due to the unfortunate choice of materials, most notably corrugated aluminum.

Kipping says: "...But there are similarities in an attitude of servicing a client that I've learned over the years from him."
yikes. Looks like his vocabulary could use improvement.
Re: The vertcial campus "aging badly", this is due as much to bad detailing as the brilliant way those metal panels seem to hold onto the soot. Also, I believe they are painted steel, not aluminum.

I read in the Baruch paper that this will not be happening anytime soon because of Spitzer's budget cuts which is leaving CUNY 2 billion short of its capital plans. Atleast the Architecture Building at City College is almost complete and looking super sharp to boot.
