I've declared Manhattan as an independent republic! It just needs citizens now so we can start our own virtual community celebrating this great place. It's at http://www.breakawayrepublix.com/main/pub/view_country.html?countryid=ff80808116e856d1011703 c2578c00b2 (http://www.breakawayrepublix.com/main/pub/view_country.html?countryid=ff80808116e856d1011703 c2578c00b2)

Anyone can become a citizen for free and it would be fantastic if people from all over the world who love Manhattan could declare their citizenship and help me to build a diverse virtual republic.
People who declare their citizenship can freely post messages linking fab places or stuff about Manhattan. See you there! :)

 Having now downed a couple of glasses of Madeira in celebration of the Independence of Manhattan the time seems right to declare the blocks surrounding my home to be another little break-away republic in its own right.

The Capital of this new Downtownistan shall be found in the dark but weloming little tapas bar at 33 Crosby Street ...

at 33 Crosby Street (http://www.foodieview.com/restaurant/n-33-crosby-bar-and-tapas/new-york/6035/7515)

Come Celebrate Our Day of Independence.

Even if I'm not at the bar no doubt someone will be there a-celebrating :D
