For quite a while now, there is this guy from Dudley England quietly spamming the board with the most interesting must-read articles.
Thanks!
( BTW: My low-grade dyslexic mind knows him as Brainiac)

Yep ^ Kudos to brianac, who regularly gets to the NY Times and other news sources far earlier than I.
His efforts have spared me countless minutes of cutting and pasting --
God Bless ya for that, brianac ;)
(and I, too, pronounce his name "brainiac" -- even though the spelling clearly shows that it's pronounced in an entirely different way)

Yes, I second that sentiment too.
Brianac is very knowledgeable about NYC for someone who doesn't live there, always writes interesting and entertaining posts, is often first to answer someone's questions in a helpful and friendly way, and has a real knack for finding the correct thread to post articles etc. in, quite often resurrecting old ones and renewing interest in forgotten topics.
Thank you, Brianac. I hope you'll be able to visit NYC again soon and entertain us with your always endearing commentary.

He would be an excellent candidate for moderator, should the need arise. :)

Oh. Shucks, you folks really know how to embarass a guy.
But thank you.
I just love New York and find what I do on here is enjoyable and educational.

I agree with everyone in this thread.
I enjoy reading the great articles he posts here .. and, like people have said, in the appropriate thread/forum. :p

I should be so lucky to earn a name like BRAINIAC.
I must admit I had heard of the TV program of that name but when I joined WIRED I just used my first name and the first letters of my middle and last names.
Thanks again.

Amazing to think some of the most interesting and realible articles posted here does not come from any native New Yorker, but from a dedicated member in England. Nice work Brian, you should indeed become the next moderator :)

Brian--
BRAINIAC was one of Superman's challenges (I think he was a humanoid computer that could fly) so you are in good company--among the dislexic anyway--as an avatar of intelligence.
Like others, your rapid acquisition of NY information--and sharing it here-- has been something I've enjoyed since you began posting.I read everything you send. How you get all this info so quickly in faraway Blighty is a mystery, but since no one else seems to be doing it you are a welcome source.
I hope you've recovered from whatever maladies that bothered you at the turn of the year.
--Keep posting,especially in appropriate threads...
