I want to go to Montecello, I dont have a car or the ability to rent one. Is it easily accessable by public transport?

Bus will take you from PABT directly to Monticello.

About 2 hours.

Short Line (http://www.coachusa.com/shortline/ss.details.asp?action=Lookup&c1=New+York&s1=NY&c2=Monticello&s2=NY&resultId=15523&order=&dayFilter=&scheduleChoice=&sitePageName=%2Fshortline%2Findex%2Easp&cbid=65732682815)

^ Mapquest gives the distance as 345.27 miles, and driving time as 6.00 hours.

Those dudes must be wailing down the road at close to 172.64 miles per hour!

No wonder they call it the Short Line.

Sure you're not confusing NY with DC?

Anyway, does Short Line even operate in Virginia?

(Wait, wait, I know ... you've been looking at Steinberg's map.)

I thought Alonzo misspelled it, since no state was specified.

I thought Montecello, as in Virginia Jefferson etc, was an American landmark.

If I thought you meant that, i'd assume you would just Google it. The site has visitor info.

Google never heard of that, do you have a link?

Just take Amtrak into Charlottesville, and a taxi to Monticello. It's only 2-3 miles south of the station.
