visit for Yankees game

we will be in New York in August for 2 Yankees games. flying into Newark airport. What is the best place to stay (someone told us to stay in Seacaucus for better hotel rates) that would be relatively close to Yankee stadium? And the best way to get from airport to a hotel?? and from hotel to Yankee Stadium? Any suggestions would be appreciated...
