Last year, my daughter and I had a blast in NYC!

My daughter and I are returning to our "summer home". Okay, my wife has business here and I'm tagging along. Like last time, she'll be working, Anya and I will be exploring NYC. She fondly remembers the choo-choo (subway) and "giant piano" (guess where?). Everytime she sees a collection of skyscrapers, like Waikiki, she points and yells "New York!"

We did a lot last time (http://www.newyork.dulcemichaelanya.com/main.php?g2_itemId=75) and now that she's three, I'm going to try some new things. Recommendations/suggestions/answers appreciated.

I will repeat a few things since I loved them so, like Top of the Rock, walking across the Brooklyn Bridge, American Museum of Natural History, etc. But I want try some new things:

Circle Line Cruise: I want to do the whole 3-hour job. What's the easiest way to get from Times Square to the pier?
Coney Island: How long is the subway from Times Square? Which is the most scenic subway line (that spends time above ground)? She won't be riding the Cyclone, but will she have a problem with the Wonder Wheel?
Guggenheim: Is it currently covered with scaffolding?
Playgrounds: Loved Heckscher Playground in Central Park. What's another recommended one?

Oh, I'll be heading out in mid-June. She's already practicing her skyline shots:

I didn't bother with captions. If you want to see more of our trip (with the captions), I've created a Photo Page (http://www.newyork.dulcemichaelanya.com/main.php?g2_itemId=75).

I'm also excited this time, since I have a better camera (Nikon D2H)

First off, I loved looking through your photos on your website. There is nothing more exciting than seeing the Manhattan skyline from Queens or Newark for the first time.

To get to Pier 83, where Circle Line is, there are directions on the main site (http://www.circleline42.com/index.ihtml?page=map) for the pier. These directions include how to get there by subway (choo-choo), bus or by car. I believe Pier 83 is where the 3-hour tour around Manhattan starts and ends.

Here (http://www.nycgovparks.org/sub_things_to_do/facilities/accessible_playgrounds.php#sites) is a list of playgrounds throughout all five boroughs of New York City. They include a Level 1-4 accessibility "meter", which is explained at the top, so you can tell if it's right for your young daughter.

Hope the above information helps. I cannot help with the Guggenheim or Coney Island, being that I do not live in NY and I have no idea. :p

By the way, your daughter is adorable! :)

Re Coney Island

I took the Q train when I visited Coney Island. I dont know if it the most picturesque, but I did enjoy the ride across the Manhattan Bridge, and a look at the Avenues in the south of Brooklyn.
I think it took about half an hour from Times Square.
