Tried something, and was very good.

The Kettle One Salt and Pepper Krinkle Cut chips with some Malt Vinegat liberally applied (and sopped up at the bottom of the bowl).

Nice combo, very tasty!

Nature has a sense of humor when you think about it. Take animals for example: a bird, a fox, a deer, a rabbit spend their whole lives running away from prey. They run away until they get too old and can no longer out run the nutrition-inspired impulses of their assasins. In all essense, and consequently, spend their existence marinating themselves for their prey.

Encideyamind
March 8th, 2009, 10:32 PM
Lol, makes you think. If everything is just prey for something bigger/stronger/smarter, what the hell are we and who's waiting to take advantage?

TREPYE

Bacteria (an astute observation made by my girl at the time I brought up the same question). Once our body looses its chemical equilibrium it stops producing ATP and due to a lack of energy production our immune system shuts down; while at the same time bacteria is tucking a napkin in its collar salivating enzymes.

Progresso "Light" soups SUCK!!!!!

They are like the regular soups with less:

Filling (Meat, veggies)
Carbs (barley, rice, noodles)
TASTE!!!!

I only got them because they were on sale. They are OK tasting, really, but they have so much less taste/substance than the "regular" soups, and only cut about 40/60 calories per serving!

So much for so little!

Soup: put good olive oil in a pot. Turn on flame. Slice or dice two or more vegetables. Throw them in the pot as you slice. Turn them in the oil. Add a can of drained beans if you like. Add hot water. A buillion cube if you want to. Vegetarian bullion cube if you want to. Salt. Bring to boil. Reduce heat to very slow simmer. Cover. Or keep cover slightly askew. Walk away. Return in 1 hour or more ...even 2 hours. You'll have great soup for 3 days. The actual work is about 20 minutes including clean up. No need to buy soup in cans. During cooking you can add some raw rice or pasta too.

Fab, the soup sounds good, but I only get the cans when they are on sale ($1/can/$1.25 a can) and they are in CANS. So I can carry a few to work and put them in my desk drawer for the 0 effort quick lunch... (no fridge).

Your soup sounds good though, and my wife has dome similar with things like ground meat and chinese veggies (usually a chicken soup base with things like Mushrooms and various greens, semi-bitter....)

Now if I could only get a range, cookware, and some cheap vittles here at work....

Oh, and 20 minutes to cook it! ;) (Seriously though, advice appreciated!:D )

The terrorists are actually a small faction within the US government. This was on TV, a spin off of the x-files. Art imitates life...or is it the other way around?

Some rain falls and every siren in the city comes screaming down the streets.

The firetrucks here are non-stop on a day with rain. Do elevators get stuck more, people have heart attacks more, cats need rescuing from trees more when it rains???
WTF.
It's horrible, made worse because we don't have normal sirens...we have the kind that the driver can play with to make a hundred different tones from hell punctuated by loud foghorn blasts.
I know...shut up because one day they will rescue me from something...I'm just saying, the type of sirens being used now in NYC are absolutely NUTS.

On another note, I wonder what makes everyone and their mother drive like an imbecile when it rains. I know there will be more traffic because people will have to drive slower (and more people will drive on a rainy day), but you would think that these people would have been driving enough in NJ/NY to know you can't tailgate in a rainstorm!

You would think that they all did NOT get their driving instruction and experience in Arizona.

I don't know for how long they'd show us or whatever else might result, but this is potentially a very big deal!!

Also, my band will be in town September 12th to play at the Sugar Bar (www.sugarbarnyc.com) on W 72nd street. Owned by the Motown hitmakers Ashford & Simpson, we played there back in June and rocked their socks off. They want us back, and I'd love for some WNYers to come out and support us!

Agreed, after the 'cartoon wars' episode of South Park my eyes were opened. Family Guy is nowhere near SP's standard.

It's funny.. during 2005 I watched a TON of Family Guy DVDs, but after a while my buddies and I remarked how they really didn't have a ton of replay value to them. Then Fox started airing new episodes that September and I thought they sucked, and THEN came along Cartoon Wars the year after that, which sealed my opinion for good.

OTOH, South Park is still producing absolute gems 13 seasons deep. Their social commentary is always insightful and seriously thought provoking, and they include plenty of fart jokes... what else needs to be said?

Also, a shout out to my other favorite favorite show -- Arrested Development!!

The Simpsons and South Park work the same way as some of the classics in that they have plenty of sex, farts, and guts to keep the simple minded folk happy, while puting in some social commentary in the background to keep the rest of us chuckling.

Some idiocy can keep us all laughing, however. "Spider Pig" is a good example.

Now Family Guy? It is pure shock value. The problem with that is you can only be shocked once (outside of Abu....). And there is only so many things you can spring on people before it becomes old hat. So they do have some funny stuff, and you have to groan at their obvious innuendo and the like, but they are just not as good as some of the others.

I still miss the Classic WB (pre-1970).

As for AD? They took too long to develop a solid, marketable fanbase. Looking at movies like Superbad, they could have probably easily branched off into either premium TV (HBO) or started their own movie series. I think they started the curve, but missed it's maturing by a bit, fallnig by the wayside.

But there have been other series, like Firefly, that have done the same. The main problem being that you need popularity like America's Got Tallent to stay on Fox. :(

Oh, so you have figured that out already?

Yes, they are megalomaniacs, One (you probably know who) is particularly tyrannical in that he/she is very selective about what they think is on or off topic, and will actually prune your thread (or pieces of it) if they feel it is inappropriate. Also, the language filter is even below PG-13 in that even acronyms like "WTF" are considered swears.

All things aside, there is a lot of good info on there as well. It is just MUCH less organized and MUCH more opinionated!

^ it's authoritAH!

They're often among the first shows to remark on current events. Hilariously.

I love what Kenny's will says in the episode "Best Friends Forever" -- the Terri Schiavo one: "If I should ever be in a vegetative state and kept alive on life support, please...... for the love of God, don't ever show me in that condition on national television."

And the end conclusion -- side A is right for the wrong reason, side B is wrong for the right reason -- is too good.

Oh, by the way: MTV has declared my band Boston's Best New Breakout Artist after battling it out with two other bands yesterday! We friggin won!! We'll be shown during the VMA awards in New England (sorry NYers).

I downloaded this video quite a while ago and have just been watching it again:

I LOVE this song, and the person who put the video together is truly gifted. Ahhh, all those classics <sigh>.

I think it would make a great Guess the Actor and Movie quiz. Anyone up for it? (don't come to me for answers, though ;)).
