Which city do you think is better in all categories. Post pictures, links, videos, etc. Also give opinions and facts.

Pretty soon, neither city will be playing any baseball.

They're both great cities, but obviously I would say New York.

Is this a comparison between skylines? If so NYC wins, all the way.

I've visited NYC a lot, but never lived there. I wouldn't be able to take a side just from a few pictures of skylines. I will say this though, NYC modern development is really lacking in new projects. I also think Chicago is cleaner than NYC, but then again, I haven't lived in new york city to really make this a fact. Comparing both cities here is like comparing a Ferrari to a Lexus in a Ferrari forum. My 2 cents :)

NY is way better. NY's only rival is London. Chicago is very American. NY and London are world cities.

Exactly, Ferrari > Lexus, in so many ways. Chicago is like NYC little brother that lives in the country. The real question is, NYC, London, or Tokyo?

NYCs only rival is London? You have to be joking. London has to be one of the most overrated "expensive for nothing" places on earth.

Sure if you like to throw away money, London is good, but Vegas is probably better.

Give me Chicago over London any day. Nothing wrong with Ol' Chicago. Yes there are Lovelier Lovelies as it has been said, but Chicago rocks!

Here are some others:

Hong Kong

Moscow

Paris

Los Angeles

Miami

I would vote for either LA or HK.

^ Hong Kong is on my future vacation list, because it looks so awesome.

LA is better than both of them, imo. And London. :)

So why does your life revolve around London/UK?

There is another thread for this which is a farce already, we dont need two.

I think he secretly likes London because he met some guy at a bar he liked. Unfortunately, he got rejected so he flew home back to NY to cry. :p

L.A. is nothing more than a huge urban sprawl with Hollywood celebrities and plenty of porn.

That's why it's better. It's a glorious place where you can get laid and get paid! ;)

I agree. LA is one of the worst cities. It really sucks.

NYC4Life

Not to mention it's plagued with gangs, police corruption, earthquakes, fires, and its skyline sucks terribly.

I liked LA, sort of, except on peak sun times when smog alerts are issued.

Why on earth should 'skyline' account as a factor to what makes a good city? Seriously, how stupid.

I personally don't know, it isn't a huge factor for me either, but some people like it because they are really into architecture. It also makes a city look nicer, not better as in what you can do, I don't know about that, but definite eye candy.

That's like saying London has no real skyline, therefore it is a bad city. But apparently its vibe and reputation is almost right up there with the likes of NYC, etc..hence why I often see so many comparisons between the two!

Also, insofar as this 'architecture' thing is concerned..is this one of the popular reasons why people visit cities like Chicago, etc? For me the main reason would be the activities and the people largely. BTW, Chicago is another place I like to see - one of my friends is from there and he's the most chilled out guy I ever met..and he says Chicago is a laid back version of NYC!

Yeah I have been seeing Chicago get serious with development, they are serious about expanding. We will have the tallest tower in the states again soon.

RockstarJizzy
October 10th, 2008, 05:58 PM
Yeah the Spire looks mighty tall though. Chicago has an impressive skyline, but in debates people still vote NYC as better, even though in a world research project it ended up as number 3 in the best skylines in the world, Chicago being better at number 2 and Hong Kong at number 1! I guess it's all subjective.

But I like Chicago..and I will admit, one of the reasons is because of watching too much ER :p
