View Full Version : Wired New York and Google

A WNY Moderator recently suggested (http://www.wirednewyork.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19875) that a poster look for requested information via Google rather than phishing at WNY for info.

Many Google searches reveal Wired New York at the top of the list.

Including a search for "fake id's" "new york" (http://www.google.com/search?q=%22fake+id%27s%22+%22new+york%22&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7RNWE)

And its variant "fake id" "new york" (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&rls=com.microsoft%3Aen-us%3AIE-SearchBox&rlz=1I7RNWE&q=%22fake+id%22+%22new+york%22)

Seemingly the Google option just brings the law breaking searcher back to us

More drastic steps beyond the attachment of a simple padlock might be needed to curb the corruption of our youth.

Chastity belt? I know what you mean. I wish the little nubbins would get their fake id's in their own towns, like I did many moons ago. ;)

I found at least 15 fake i.d. threads. They could all be deleted, but maybe there should also be some sort of notice similar to Zippy's last response to a fake I.D. inquirer.

What an interesting way to get deleted ...

I deleted all the threads I could find. Almost nuked this one too. :)

Just have to wait for the Web Crawlers to move in, and clean up the dead links.

I could stick a topic in Questions & Answers, something like...

"Questions We Can't Answer"

and make a list.

Any suggestions?

Maybe just add something to the Forum Rules of Conduct such as:

'Planning and/or actively enabling an activity that is known to be illegal is prohibited. Any threads, posts, or discussion to this effect will be unceremoniously deleted and the offending member warned.

Don't ask and don't tell.'

Can I move to NYC stone cold with 10K in savings?

How about using this (https://ssl.scroogle.org/) instead of google.
