The next meeting of Wired New York Members - the gallery walk in Chelsea (http://www.meetup.com/wirednewyork/calendar/9798553/), next Saturday, 28 Feb 09, at 12:15pm.

I am interested in going on a WNY gallery walk some time in the future: but, unfortunately will not be able to attend this Saturday.

While I regret that I am unable to attend, I am delighted that this gathering is taking place. Best wishes for an enjoyable and stimulating day.

I read the stats on this meetup and am surprised (and amazed) to see a possible attendance of of about 70 people; that is just great.

I have to see this myself: so I plan to attend and tag along for about an hour - after which point I will have to leave the group.

The last time I was at an art gallery in Chelsea I went to the Proposition Gallery gallery : I saw (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11669242/) the chocolate jesus. :eek:

Around 35 people attended this meetup.

We started at Bruce Silverstein Gallery that had a photography show of two photographers - Aaron Siskind and Shinichi Maruyama. We then proceeded to view shows at several other galleries - including Yossi Milo and ClampArt, and ended the meetup at Aperture Gallery.

I took a group photo of the attendees, it includes most of the people who were at this wiredny sponsored event, other people were still showing up while I was taking this photo.

As it turned out, many folks who registered for the event actually attended: it seems to me that the big difference this time was due to networking with meetup dotcom, that was a big help in every way. The meetup dotcom site provided; email reminders of the event, the opportunity to rsvp, and a complete list of the people who registered for the meeting. I plan on coming to future events: preferably Sunday meetups - can't (generally) do saturdays.
