Latest rendering actually appears to have gone glassy:

Or is that gray brick and glass?

Maybe. I love the shape of this building - it's going to look great when viewed from the North on Flatbush.

I can see this building under construction from my office at the ESB.

This building has just had its first setback. That puts it at about 25 floors so far, give or take.

Taken today. Up to about 25 floors. Avalon is also visible in the upper right corner.

By the way, note the cantilever in the lower left in my last picture. I haven't seen that mentioned anywhere else, but this building cantilevers over an existing building starting on the 11th floor.

Great shot Zinka. Thanks for sharing.

From where?

Seems to be from Forte'?

Most likely. From that angle, there aren't that many other possibilities.

Well bye bye view then.

Well bye bye view then.

Yep, it's from the Forte roof deck.

It blocks a small portion of the view, but mostly the view of the Flatbush corridor, which was already blocked by other high-rises.

BrooklynLove
March 15th, 2009, 08:12 AM
Or adds to the view depending on one's perspective I guess.

That will depend on how nicely this building ends up turning out. So far I'm extremely cautiously optimistic. It's a bit surprising they haven't started cladding it yet...

The rendering looks pretty handsome - nice shape, nice skin. Fingers crossed.

By the way, what's the deal with the construction shed at Forte - needs work already?

I agree the rendering looks good, much better than I was expecting given the quality of the other residential bldgs popping-up in the area (the execeptions being Oro and Toren, both of which I happen to like). The final decision will ride on the quality of the building material.

It's getting skinned today! It's a fairly generic metallic skin with big, but not huge, windows. Looks a lot like the rendering. I'll get a picture when I can.

Actually it's about 1/3 occupied. More on the lower floors than the higher floors.
