I've been to Philly many times, so this is just a few pics from this trip. It was the two museums and a visit to the zoo (oldest in U.S.) for its 150th birthday.:)

Thanks very very much for the pictuers of Philadephia,PA. I was in a rental car on a highway in Philadephia,PA. one day during October 2007. I saw the 76ers and the Flyers both play their home games at Wachovia Center the Philies play their home games at one Major League Baseball Stadium and the Eagles play their home games at one National Football League Stadium. And that was my 1st time in Philadelphia,PA.

^ BRider & Luca: What were your impressions of Philadelphia?

I love Philly. I tend to prefer north-eastern cities. I like the people, the sensibilities, and I have great appreciation for the pedestrian experience. I also enjoy cities that have great Mass Transit.

I could easily live in Philadelphia. I particularly like Philadelphia and Boston , and would be comfortable settling in either place.

I also like visiting Washington, DC, but it is a very uptight resident population and I think the overall trait that comes across in its citizenry is pretension. It also retains a certain "southern" thing - let's call it "charm." I find "southern charm" repulsive. So, there's that prejudice.

Yeah, NYC, Philly, Boston and, certainly, San Francisco on the west coast.

^ BRider & Luca: What were your impressions of Philadelphia?

Through most of my time in the US, Philly was generally portrayed as a VERY gritty plae and a bit of a lost cause. So, I was taken aback by the urbanity and attractiveness of the public domain over large swathes of old and central Philly. To be sure, a tough city and certainly you can't compare the art/restaurant/fashion scene with, say, NYC; but I was very, very positively suprised. An extremely enjoyable place to walk around.

Cops seemed polite, anyhow. ;)

Cops in Philly deal with real (homicide, robberies, etc) crimes on a daily basis, so they tend to not care about smaller offenses many times (jaywalking, parking, even marijuana possession). The things I got away with in this town...
