Add a 4th one to the list. What in the world is going on?

TV pitchman Billy Mays has died. He was 50.

Mays was found on the floor unconcious by his wife at their home in Tampa, Florida. Firefirghters had attempted to revive him, but they were unsuccessful.

He's the 4th celeb to die since Michael Jackson died on Thursday! Ed McMahon and Farrah Faucet also died last week!

You can Google his name to find out some more there on him:eek:

Yeah, I posted that one before this one was posted.

Maybe, one of the mods can combine the two together.

But new evidence suggests that Mays did not die from being hit on the head when his plane landed, as was previously thought.

Instead, it was revealed that the ME's doing the autopsy had discovered evidence in his body that he possibly suffered a heart attack, perhaps brought on by hardening of the arteries and a blood clot found near his heart.

That he may have had a heart condition that possbly wasn't being treated or controlled. He had only just returned home from doing an OxiClean commercial!

I bet that OxiClean could have cleaned out those arteries
like reg detergent couldn't!

He shoulda called Vince. One ShamWow could have handled it.

Vince is too busy using his sham wows to clean up all that blood, caused by a raging
hooker biting his tongue (just before he bashed the h. e. double hockey sticks out of her)!

I thought about the OxiClean one as well.

Then he could have used the Goforit to remove the fat from his arteries.

Haven't seen either one's commercials as of late though! :p

I was hoping that I would get some Orange Glo as a prize for being right, but you never know about these things......

Isn't that the procedure that former VP Dick Cheney has to have done every now & then?

Their commecials are back on the air now. Saw the one about the Slap Chopper and Mays' one for I-Can Health Insurance.

That could have halped and maybe he would have been alive now - but I-Can forget about their commercials. :p

Oh God, I can't stand it.

There's STILL more.

I just watched a TV commercial by the recently departed Billy Mays.

Ironically, he was pitching some sort of medical insurance, based in Boca Raton FL, ICanBenefit (http://icanbenefit.com/)

I saw him doing that Scratch concealer at the gym the other day. Creeped me out.

No doubt his estate continues to be paid when his commercials are aired. Or that the ads were contracted for a specific span of run / air time.

If not then he had a really lousy contract.

With his clout and exposure I wouldn't be surprised if he had his own production company involved in the making / marketing / distribution of the commercials -- all of which would mean big returns for Mr. Mays & his heirs.

Indeed ...

Mr. Mays production company - Four Blind Mice Productions, LLC (http://4blindmicetv.com/).

But I wonder if someone will eventually replace him in those commercials.

They say there was no real evidence of abuse.

You think he was a newbie and his heart just couldn't take running that fast for that long?

ZippyTheChimp
August 10th, 2009, 11:47 AM
They say there was no real evidence of abuse.Who's "they?"

The ME office stated that cocaine use was a contributory factor in his heart disease, and that he had used it days prior to his death, but wasn't under the influence when he died.

The Mays family issued statements that questioned the autopsy, because they were not aware that Billy Mays ever using illegal or abusied legal drugs. This may sound like a typical family response, repressing negative aspects of a family member; but those with experience in these matters will tell you how common it is for people close to an addict to be unaware of any problem.

It brings to mind the horrific accident recently on the Taconic Parkway (http://www.google.com/news?pz=1&ned=us&hl=en&q=diane+schuler+taconic), in which Diane Schuler, driving family members from an upstate campsite to Long Island, headed the wrong way on the Taconic for 1.7 miles at 1PM. She crashed head on into another vehicle, killing herself, her 2 year old daughter, three young neices, and all three people in the other vehicle. Only her 5 year old son survived.

A broken vodka bottle was found under the seat. Autopsy showed her blood-alcohol-level was twice the legal limit, plus 6 grams undigested alcohol, and THC.

Her husband said he never saw her drunk.

Who's "they?"

Do I need to quote the article?

Initial autopsy results did not turn up evidence of drug abuse, but toxicology tests uncovered the coke in his system.

If there is no evidence of abuse, that either means he was VERY careful about it, or he just started. SO "they" is the NY Post.

The ME office stated that cocaine use was a contributory factor in his heart disease, and that he had used it days prior to his death, but wasn't under the influence when he died.

Hmm, so indirect effect. I would have thought it was a combo, but I can see where the additional stress did the body no good in the long run....

That one is HIGHLY suspect.

1. I think they are trying to make sure the in-laws/relatives do not start a family war over the dead neices/nephews.

2. I think the Husband probably had a nice big argument with her before she left.

3. This had to be more than just a single incident. Not many people, even after a big row with their significant other, would get pissed, get in a car with a bunch of kids, drive around for a few hours drinking hooch, smoke a joint (not necessarily in that order), then proceed to drive full tilt the wrong way on the highway.

But that is another story that might be better served with a new thread, and a link to it.....
