One day each month, DUMBO's art galleries stay open late and host receptions and area restaurants and bars often have live music. This usually happens on the first Thursday - hence the name First Thursday Gallery Walk - but because of 4th of July celebrations, this month it happens on July 9th.
We will meet at 5:45pm at powerHouse bookstore (same meeting place as for NY Photo Festival).
We will visit Smack Mellon Gallery which will have live music and beer tasting; Farmani Gallery has opening night reception for the Xto Nude Image Awards; A.I.R gallery and other galleries in the 111 Front Street building.
And of course bring your camera - the neighborhood has incredible views of downtown Manhattan from the Brooklyn Bridge Park and Brooklyn and Mahnattan Bridges.
