Here's the scoop:
I have an opportunity to go to Manchester England this month to a skydiving event. Room & board will cost me nothing.
I have heard that the departure tax from Merry-Ole is about $200. Can this possibly be true???? A few years ago, I took my mother to London for a weekend. I don't recall any "departure tax".

Departure tax? I don't think so.

Airplane flights DO carry heavy landing/T-off, etc. fees which sometimes are shown speparately on airline tickets/invoices (especially by the low-cost airlines) .

I'm pretty sure they are nowhere near the $/ 200 mark, but they have risen significantly; largely due to lobbying from green activists.
