I can tell you that #528 is the Islamic Cultural Center found at 1 Riverside drive on the corner of 72nd,
and I saw #532 on the north east corner of 72nd and West End Ave while walking my dog...
the bottom is some kind of deli/grocer
The whole area is dotted with magnificent buildings like these!
If you look on Google earth they can both be more completely seen.

Yes that's my rare Chocolate Ticked Beagle, actually registered by the name of "Deputy O. D. Bender Dawg"... the O.D. stands for Over Dose ;)
He does LOVE New York,especially in the winter. His favorite places are Times Square and the Meat Packing District.
I think it's because of all the aromas, and tourists who want to pet him :D

I like that one. Cut off the bottom 15% of it and all you have is the play of curved lines with strait ones through the perspective of a narrow alley.....

As for Driftwood... You may want to look over at some areas in Hoboken. Not too far away, but there are still a few undeveloped piers, and a dry dock that has a pile of rusting steel (cogs, etc) that can make for an interesting shot or two.

If you don't mind my asking, are the things in #573 in your apartment? The monkeys look antique/collectible?

They are in my painting studio (boy do I need to dust!)...the monkeys are from around 1920.
I have what may be the largest antique monkey toy collection in the country, with well over
3000 examples from the 1800's through the 1960's.
The studio also contains the collection from my antique African art gallery,
which I recently had to close down on Lexington (1 outrageous rent increases after another).
That's the bottom of a wicker shield over the monkeys. You can also see the tip of a spear laying on top of it.
here is a small glimpse of a couple of my monkey toy shelves (which are 12 feet high).
These toys are now actually worth more than my stocks :eek:

western portion of Hudson yards completely blocked off. There must have been over
500 po po's crawling around the area creeping people out- paddy wagons on every corner...!

Did you get on the tram, too?
No (here almost 30 years and never have), It was a beautiful day so I walked across the Queensboro bridge to Queens and back.
Was disappointed to find out that only the north side walkway is open, the south side (with the best views)
is closed for repairs or something.
Does anyone know if or when they will ever reopen it?
