View Full Version : Question about Bush.

I have not been able to find this, or the proper term for this, online.

GWB was the President that holds a record for number of times doing somthing in his power that was seen as an iveruse and abuse.

I do not know if it was riders, line item veto's or what it was, but I remember the number being more than ALL previous presidents before him combined. Something over 700?

For the life of me I cannot remember what this was and without the proper term, Google is useless.

Any clue?

GWB signed 291 (http://www.archives.gov/federal-register/executive-orders/wbush.html) Federal Executive Orders (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_order_(United_States))

But given the number you cite it seems you're referring to "Signing Statements (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signing_statement_(United_States))" -- of which GWB issued over 750 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signing_statement_(United_States)#Controversy_over _George_W._Bush.27s_use_of_signing_statements). That was a huge uptick over the numbers issued by his predecessors (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Signing_statement_(United_States)#Presidential_usa ge) and his increased signings coincided with the arrival of Samuel Alito at SCOTUS.
