Hello^^. i've been trying to write a story set in manhattan, New York. i was wondering if anyone could tell just how bad racsisim was back then. Like i know the basics but i need a little bit of detailed info, such as what would happen if an african american were to step out of Harlem? or was there any place that allowed blacks in? These question is also for the flip side, would a white person be attack if caught in Harlem alone?

Also what would be the reaction to a women wearing a thin pant suit

please and thank you^^
